What is sim swap attacks?

for example they convinsing mobile number sim card providers, for example i have full details(id cards ..etc) about one user , i can get sim in same mobile number, then i can receive OTPs and other sensitive messages ..etc

thats why don’t share your personal information in public, that help to secure your account,

ones they get our numbes they can do

• receive your calls and messages
• bypass the two factor authendication
• they can reset the passwords
• and they can serious crimes with using our phone numbers

How attacker approch SimSwap attack

• attacker gather your personal information using social angineering and data leaks. like (full name , nickname , national id card number , date of birth, ….etc )
• the can call mobile sim provider companies, they call like you i lost my sim card … bla bla bla that customer care just asking mobile number , id number , date of birth for verification.
• they can get sim card in same phone number then they can receive your OTP verification code
• they can access your bank account

How to protect from Simswap attack

• use google authentication or microsoft authendicators any authenticatin apps
• dont share your date of birth phone number …etc in public
